CELINA, Ohio— Celina police are investigating an April 23 accident involving a single vehicle that left two men seriously injured.
The accident occurred at approximately 12:28 a.m. on Ohio 29, between Staeger Road and Havemann Road. Authorities said a 2012 Toyota Camry, traveling at high speed, failed to negotiate a curve.
Officials identified Sean Kirschmann, 21, of St. Marys, as the passenger in the Camry. Emergency responders transported him to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries before being airlifted to a trauma center.
The driver of the Camry, a 21-year-old man from California, also suffered serious injuries and was hospitalized before being flown to a trauma unit.
Investigators determined that the Camry struck a culvert before going airborne. The vehicle landed near vertically on its rear bumper, cartwheeled about 50 yards, and came to rest on its roof.
Celina police suspect alcohol may have played a role in the accident.
