WILLIAMSVILLE, Ill. — Authorities are investigating a hit-and-run accident involving a bicyclist and a van on April 26.
Police said Joseph Trueblood, of Broadwell, admitted to driving the Honda Odyssey involved in the accident. The van struck a 40-year-old bicyclist on Dinnius Road and fled the scene.
The cyclist was injured.
Deputies from the Sangamon County Sheriff’s Office and Logan County Sheriff’s Office located Trueblood and the van at his residence. Officials said Trueblood was arrested for failing to report the accident and on an outstanding warrant.
Trueblood received seven traffic citations, including leaving the scene of an accident, failure to yield, and operating an uninsured vehicle.
The investigation remains ongoing.
