Ceyontay Bell killed in Los Angeles County single-vehicle crash

The L.A. County Medical Examiner’s office has revealed the name of the driver who passed away in a collision on the southbound lanes of Interstate 5 on Monday afternoon.
Around 4:30 p.m., authorities from the California Highway Patrol and L.A. County Fire Department were informed of a 2001 Toyota Avalon that had driven off the southbound side of Interstate 5, near Templin Highway.
Ceyontay Bell, age 24, of Bakersfield, and two other unidentified passengers were pronounced dead at the scene due to their injuries, as confirmed by officials from CHP and L. A County Fire Department.
According to the CHP report, Bell was heading south on I-5, near Templin Highway, at a high speed and performed an unsafe turn, causing the Toyota to collide with a rising dirt embankment. The car then became airborne and went down an embankment.
According to the CHP report, a single individual was taken to Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital in critical condition for medical treatment.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation, but CHP said impairment did not appear to be a factor.

CRASH INVESTIGATION
In 2018, the U.S. Department of Transportation Fatality Analysis Reporting System recorded 33,654 fatal motor vehicle crashes in the United States, resulting in 36,560 deaths.
“Road conditions, visibility, and lighting are all potential contributing factors that are considered and examined,” stated Candice Bond, an experienced attorney and Managing Partner at Bond Legal.
“Sometimes, an accident reconstruction team is required to piece together what happened. All these resources are essential in helping clients receive financial compensation for damages or a loss after an accident,” added Bond.

WRONGFUL DEATH CLAIM
Pending the investigation, the family of a victim could pursue a wrongful death claim. Relatives of wrongful death victims are entitled to seek damages for the loss of companionship, pain and suffering, and emotional distress following a tragic or catastrophic accident.
“The stress and sorrow can be extremely overwhelming after losing a loved one in an accident,” said Stefano Formica, of counsel at Bond Legal.
“We understand the hardships that families face, and it’s crucial to protect their rights. A wrongful death lawyer will keep abreast of the official investigation and ensure that their legal rights and best interests are safeguarded.”
