BELLEFONTAINE—A crash on Feb. 28 injured Charles Emory, 81, of Springfield, on U.S. Highway 68 South.


Police said Emory was driving a 2014 Ford F-150 north when a 48-year-old woman in a 2006 Honda Civic veered left of center and hit his vehicle. The impact pushed Emory’s truck left of center, where it struck a 2016 Ford F-150 driven by a 58-year-old man.


Emergency responders took Emory and the other man to Mary Rutan Hospital with serious injuries. Authorities said the woman driving the Civic was pronounced dead at the hospital and was not wearing a seatbelt.


The Logan County Sheriff’s Office is investigating.


CRASH INVESTIGATION

BELLEFONTAINE—A crash on Feb. 28 injured Charles Emory, age 81, of Springfield, on U.S. Highway 68 South, according to authorities.
Police said Emory was driving a 2014 Ford F-150 pickup truck north when a 2006 Honda Civic, driven by a 48-year-old woman, veered left of center and struck his vehicle.
The impact forced Emory’s truck left of center, where it collided with a 2016 Ford F-150 driven by a 58-year-old man. Emergency responders transported Emory and the other man to Mary Rutan Hospital with serious injuries.
The Logan County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the crash.
Authorities noted that the woman driving the Honda Civic was pronounced dead at the hospital, and she was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
