SOUTH NASHVILLE—Charles Fountain, 65, of South Nashville, died from injuries sustained in a hit-and-run on Monday.
Authorities reported the incident happened on Old Hickory Boulevard near Firestone Parkway when a Toyota Tacoma pickup truck struck Fountain, who was riding a scooter.
Witnesses stated that the truck dragged the scooter for approximately 900 feet before it dislodged. Fountain was attempting to cross the road at the time of the crash.
Emergency responders pronounced him dead at the scene.
Police are asking anyone with information about the truck, which possibly is black, or its driver to contact them as the investigation continues.
