HALL COUNTY, Ga.— Authorities are investigating an April 23 crash on Ga. 365 at Lula Road involving two vehicles.
The accident occurred around 8:20 p.m. when a southbound vehicle on Ga. 365 attempted a left turn onto Lula Road. The vehicle stopped in the path of a northbound vehicle traveling in the right lane.
Officials identified Donnie Smith, 63, of Homer, as the driver of the southbound vehicle. Emergency responders transported him to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, where he was pronounced dead just after 9 p.m.
The driver of the northbound vehicle sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was also taken to the hospital.
The Hall County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the accident.
