SANDY SPRINGS— Humberto Gómez, age 45, tragically died on March 21 after being struck by a car on Roswell Road in Sandy Springs.
Sandy Springs Police reported the incident occurred around 10:07 a.m. near Mystic Place. Investigators stated a 2014 Lexus ES300 sedan hit Gómez while he was walking along the road. Emergency responders pronounced him dead at the scene.
Police arrested the driver, identified as Robert Lamar Sanders, in Roswell with assistance from criminal intelligence and traffic investigators. Sanders faces multiple charges, including homicide by vehicle, hit-and-run, and driving under the influence of drugs.
Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances of the accident.
