ST. LOUIS, Mo.— A carjacking-related accident involving a fleeing vehicle led to a fatality on April 15 at Natural Bridge Avenue and Union Boulevard.
Authorities identified Hyansama Reese, a 44-year-old St. Louis resident, as the victim. Reese was driving her red Hyundai when the carjacked vehicle ran a red light and struck her car. Emergency responders transported Reese to the hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries.
Police reported the carjacked vehicle, occupied by five individuals, was fleeing officers when it crashed into Reese’s Hyundai. The suspects include two men, ages 22 and 20, and three teenagers. Authorities recovered two guns and a fake firearm from the vehicle.
The St. Louis Police Department is investigating the incident with assistance from multiple specialized units.
