VERMILION COUNTY— Isaiah Edmond, age 35, of Indiana, died early Tuesday morning after a tractor-trailer struck his car along Interstate 74.
The crash occurred around 3:53 a.m. near milepost 200 in Fithian. Authorities said Edmond was driving when his car and the truck collided. Emergency responders extricated Edmond from the wreckage and transported him to Carle Hospital in Urbana.
Edmond was pronounced dead at 5:27 a.m.
No information was immediately available about the truck driver.
The Illinois State Police and the Champaign County Coroner’s Office are investigating.
