KNOXVILLE— Authorities are pursuing vehicular homicide charges against Jada Warren, age 24, after a fatal accident early on March 27.
Knoxville Police Department reported the accident occurred around 1:50 a.m. on Boright Drive near Whitney Place. Investigators said Warren was driving when her car struck a tree.
Emergency responders found an adult female passenger near the vehicle with life-threatening injuries. Despite efforts by first responders, the woman was pronounced dead shortly after 3 a.m.
Officers located Warren nearby and transported her to the University of Tennessee Medical Center for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. Police stated Warren admitted she was under the influence of marijuana at the time. Charges will be filed once she is released.
The incident remains under investigation by the Knoxville Police Department.
