Jannie Lipscomb tragically killed in Roxboro cement truck accident

CRASH INVESTIGATION

ROXBORO—Jannie Lipscomb, 77, of Timberlake, died in a crash on Tuesday in Roxboro.
The incident occurred shortly after 3 p.m. at the intersection of N. Main Street and Providence Road when a cement truck hit her car. Witnesses reported that the truck failed to stop at a red light, leading to the fatal crash.
Emergency responders pronounced Lipscomb dead at the scene. A child passenger in her car was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.
The 43-year-old driver of the cement truck has been charged with misdemeanor death by motor vehicle and failing to stop at a red light.
The cause of the accident remains under investigation.

The family of Jannie Lipscomb may pursue compensation for damages such as costs associated with the death, loss of income and companionship, and other hardships.
