CARTHAGE— Jude Brown, 5, was injured Sunday evening after a car struck him while he was riding a motorized scooter.
The incident occurred around 6:40 p.m. in the 100 block of E. Ash Street. Witnesses said a red Cadillac DTS with paper tags hit the scooter and left the scene.
The driver, described as a young woman, reportedly exited the car, saw the injured child, and drove off without helping him.
Emergency responders transported Jude to a local hospital. He was later flown to Shreveport for further treatment of multiple injuries, including a broken collarbone.
Carthage Police Department is investigating and seeking information about the driver involved in the hit-and-run.
