PRAIRIE COUNTY— Laterrika Woods, age 29, tragically died on March 25 after a high-speed accident on Interstate 40 near Hazen.
Arkansas State Police reported the accident occurred during an 18-mile chase that began after officers attempted a traffic stop. A trooper executed a Tactical Vehicle Intervention near milepost 191, causing the vehicle to overturn into a ditch.
Authorities stated Woods was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene. Police confirmed two other passengers and the driver, all from Memphis, were hospitalized. One passenger remains in critical condition.
Investigators recovered firearms, drugs, and cash from the vehicle. The investigation is ongoing. Information was provided by Arkansas State Police.
