LANCASTER, N.Y.— Lincoln Counihan, an 18-year-old senior at Lancaster High School, suffered severe injuries on March 30 in Lancaster.
Lancaster police reported the accident occurred around 5:30 p.m. at Kennedy Court near Belmont Street. Counihan was driving out of his parents’ driveway when another car struck the driver’s side of his vehicle.
Emergency responders extricated Counihan after he was trapped for nearly an hour. They transported him to ECMC, where doctors treated his shattered pelvis, a broken ankle, and multiple other injuries.
Police identified speed as a contributing factor. The investigation into the accident continues by Lancaster police.
