LITTLE ROCK— Marcus Billingsley, age 70, tragically lost his life on Saturday after succumbing to injuries from an accident in Little Rock.
The accident occurred on March 23 around 7 p.m. at the intersection of Kavanaugh and Lee streets. Authorities stated a vehicle struck Billingsley while he was cycling.
An investigation into the accident remains ongoing.
Our roads pose a unique danger for bicycle riders. According to the National Safety Council, 932 bicyclists were killed in motor-vehicle traffic crashes in 2020, an 8.9% increase from the year before.
