A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle and killed along Lott Road Tuesday morning, according to a report from the Semmes Police Department.
Officers responded at around 5:40 a.m. to a call of a pedestrian being struck at the Highway 158 overpass. When they arrived, they found 34-year-old Michael Stone lying in the roadway.
Stone was airlifted to University Hospital, where he succumbed to injuries.
The driver remained at the scene to cooperate with investigators.
An investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.
