KNOX COUNTY, Tenn.— A multi-vehicle accident along Clinton Highway claimed the life of one person on April 15.
According to officials, just after 4 p.m., a pickup truck’s receiver hitch detached and struck the windshield of a Jeep Grand Cherokee. The accident occurred between Old Callahan Drive and Beaver Creek Drive. A third vehicle traveling northbound also struck the Jeep from behind.
Authorities identified 72-year-old Michael Walker as the driver of the Jeep. Emergency responders confirmed Walker died at the scene due to the impact.
No additional injuries were reported.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol continues to investigate the accident.
