MIDDLETOWN, N.Y.— A 31-year-old Wurtsboro man remains in critical condition after he was struck by a car on April 1 in Middletown.
New York State Police reported that the accident happened at around 8:45 p.m. at Dolson Avenue and County Route 78. Nancy Zitzmann was driving a 2014 Mazda north on Dolson Avenue with a green light when she struck a pedestrian.
Zitzmann, age 64, remained at the scene and called for assistance.
Emergency responders performed life-saving measures at the scene and transported the pedestrian to Garnet Health Medical Center. He was later airlifted to Westchester Medical Center due to the severity of injuries.
Troopers continue to investigate the circumstances of the accident.
