BEXAR COUNTY— Savannah Cardenas tragically died on March 22 in a head-on accident on West Loop 1604 South early in the morning.
The Texas Department of Public Safety stated the accident happened at approximately 3:30 a.m. Dylan Hernandez, age 22, allegedly drove northbound without headlights and struck Cardenas’ southbound vehicle.
Emergency responders pronounced Cardenas dead at the scene.
Authorities reported Hernandez was taken to the hospital, where medical staff confirmed his blood alcohol content exceeded the legal limit. He was charged with intoxication manslaughter with a vehicle.
The accident remains under investigation by the Texas Department of Public Safety.
