KEY PENINSULA—Authorities said that 47-year-old Sonnie Mayo suffered life-threatening injuries in a Feb. 25 crash on the Key Peninsula.
Police said a silver Toyota Camry, driven by a 39-year-old man, crashed head-on into another vehicle near Wright Bliss Road NW and 144th Street NW.
Mayo was a passenger in the Toyota and was extricated from the vehicle. She suffered compound fractures in all four limbs and is in a coma.
The driver of the Toyota died at the scene.
The crash occurred after Mason County deputies pursued the Camry down State Route 302.
Authorities stated Mayo is not suspected of any crimes related to the incident. The investigation is ongoing.
