SEBASTIAN COUNTY— Warren Campbell, age 52, of Fort Smith, was critically injured on March 17 in a motorcycle crash on Tennessee Road.
Sebastian County Sheriff’s Office deputies reported that a work-style truck carrying wood turned left onto Hay Road in front of Campbell’s motorcycle. Witnesses heard the impact and saw the truck leave the scene, leaving wood behind.
Emergency responders transported Campbell by helicopter to a Northwest Arkansas hospital. He remains in critical condition with internal injuries in the ICU.
On March 18, investigators located the suspect vehicle, which had attempted paint repairs, and linked it to a local business. Authorities arrested a 52-year-old Bonanza man, charging him with Leaving the Scene of an Accident with Serious Injury. He is being held on a $20,000 bond.
The crash remains under investigation by the Sebastian County Sheriff’s Office.
